At RichContext, we believe our solutions are only as strong as the team that powers them. This month, we’re spotlighting Robbie Lankford, Lead Software Engineer, Backend. He’s constantly working to ensure that RichContext products are running smoothly. Read more below!
Tell us about yourself.
I’m a Southern California native born in Orange County but spent most of my childhood right here in Northwest Arkansas. I moved back to Southern California in high school and spent over 15 years there before finally winding up back here in NWA just a couple of years ago. I’ve been a software engineer here at RichContext for over a year and a half now.
What do you do at RichContext?
My current role of RichContext is Lead Software Engineer, Backend. This means that I help create and maintain systems behind the scenes that are needed to keep our products up and running.
What do you enjoy most about working at RichContext?
There are tons of great things about working at RichContext as a software engineer; one of the most enjoyable is getting to solve interesting problems. There’s a lot of inherent challenges in creating complex systems and our engineering team does a great job finding unique solutions.
Favorite RichContext project you’ve worked on?
I’d say that my favorite project to work on is Hyphen. While Hyphen itself is a front-end application that gets served to our end users, there is a lot going on in the backend to make all of this come together and operate smoothly.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I’ve been a Linux hobbyist and enthusiast for over 20 years now. This is actually where my love of computer science was sparked. I believe that Linux is for everyone. I’d encourage people to try it and perhaps even find a Linux expo near you!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to get outdoors as much as possible. There’s no shortage of awesome places and things to see here in NWA. When I have the opportunity, I love to visit National Parks. In the last couple of years I’ve been to Yosemite, Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Glacier NP.
